Buddhist monks looking at the full moon at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep the night before Wisaka Bucha in Chiang Mai Thailand. This temple in the outskirts of the city located on the top of a mountain that overlooks the city is a Theravadada Wat was founded in 1383. The Gautama Buddha's shoulder bone is supposed to be housed here as a relic. The night before Vesak or Buddha birthday and enlightenment day thousands of people do a pilgrimage to this temple to celebrate the most important day for buddhists. The festivity takes place on the full moon day of the sixth lunar month.
